How do you make people feel?

It may feel like a simple question but it has had my brain churning for weeks. As shocking as it made be, Social Media has been the culprit of these thoughts…add a little sarcasm lol.

Authenticity has been something I strive to be and portray. I feel when people are truly authentic, they are fully themselves. This creates a safe space for others to be themselves. This attracts realness and I am slowly but surely learning with life experience and time we need to be with people that let us be ourselves. Not the best version or prettiest version. It’s a type of version that lets you have messy hair and a messy home, a version you can cry and sometimes be sad when needed. It’s a version that is not always a pretty table scape with classy music playing in the background or the trendiest.

So being true to who we are hopefully attracts the perfect people that see the good in you. That feel inspired by you. That feel safe around you. That make you feel whole. I went through a phase after my daughters cancer journey. It was 2019 and I was in the year of avoidance. Like I knew I was a mess deep down in the healing journey, and It projected and showed in different ways. Mainly with extreme sensitivity. I know it was like waking on eggshells around me at times. And i get so bummed thinking about the way that might have made people feel. I am thankful I started the healing journey in 2020 and as I have done the self work and practice more self love I desire and attract very different things.I feel I have been many versions of myself the last 5 years but slowly but surely making my way back to who I want and desire to be. It’s fascinating how things shift!

So my self check for the week- How do I make people feel at my work, in my friend group, on social media, in public ,around strangers?

Community is everything to me and I feel it is so important to acknowledge this question regularly so we can make everyone around us feel safe, loved, heard, seen, accepted. All of it!
